LSC LAUNCHES "NEW AND IMPROVED" WEBSITE

The LSC's new website is now live.

It’s official! The LSC’s new website is now live, enabling visitors to access all the latest news and features at the click of a mouse.

Following an extensive development and testing period, the updated website was launched on 20 November, and offers web-users an improved national and regional information service.

Users will also be pleased to see that the site has been broken down into a number of easy-to-use sections, creating a more visually appealing layout and ensuring that it is easier to navigate and access the information and services on offer.

“Our new website is the LSC’s shop window,” says Gary Rae, Regional Head of Marketing and Communications for the LSC in Yorkshire and the Humber. He continues: “A lot of time and thought has gone into designing a more sophisticated site which is more intuitive, whilst maintaining a rich content of news and features.”

The site has been split into easy-to-use sections:

  • About us - an overview of the organisation and access to key LSC documents such as our annual report
  • News - updates and press releases
  • What we do - detailing programmes being delivered by the LSC
  • Providers - information on funding and planning and access to the Provider Gateway
  • Publications - featuring latest and most accessed documents
  • Vacancies - identifying job opportunities within the LSC
  • Regions - dedicated information created by our nine regional offices in England

Gary Rae comments: “The site contains the latest LSC news for each region and provides an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the organisation as a whole and the key people and partners.  It also offers more interactive content than before with users able to engage in two-way communications and even choose their own colour scheme for the site.”

The site has been tested to ensure it conforms to AA accessibility standards for people with disabilities, meeting the highly-regarded level 3 criteria in most instances.

All users are encouraged to give us feedback on the site so we can continually improve it.

Current and previous issues of LSC News are available on the site and new readers can sign up to receive regular issues of the newsletter.
