Yorkshire event offers one-stop-shop for training

Business Yorkshire 2008

One of the region’s biggest business events, Business Yorkshire 2008, took place at Doncaster Racecourse at the beginning of October offering Yorkshire employers a chance to get their hands on essential advice and resources to ensure the future success of their business – all under one roof!

As economic uncertainty continues to grow, maximising the productivity of staff will become increasingly important and training is a vital element in achieving this, increasing both productivity and profit. With this is mind, Train to Gain, from the LSC, exhibited at the event offering visitors impartial and free advice, information and inspiration on training requirements for their staff.

David Hodges, regional skills director for the LSC in Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “The Train to Gain skills brokers were on hand throughout the exhibition to help employers identify areas where their employees may be unskilled and match these to an effective training programme.

“Implementing training schemes can help businesses to increase staff productivity by up to 4% per employee and the Train to Gain team offer impartial advice to help businesses to find the best training to meet their individual needs.”

Train to Gain ran two free seminars during the exhibition: 'Apprenticeships – the proven way to train your workforce' and 'Gain the competitive edge with Train to Gain'.
